If you're only looking to maintain your current weight then a cardio work out of only 60 to 90 minutes a week should be sufficient for you. Make sure you distribute this time appropriately over the entire week.



If your goal is to lose weight and burn some extra body fat then you might need to work out around 2 to 5 hours a week with each session lasting around 40 to 60 minutes. There are several different exercises that you can do but you need to remember that the best time to do your cardio is early in the morning before you eat anything. Since you've been sleeping for around 6 to 8 hours the level of sugar in your blood will be very low and your body will burn the stored fat, using it as an alternative energy source, helping you lose weight.
